Ricky Gu, Collin, and Bandit (the dog) stopped for a short visit in Ottawa on Wed, Sept 1, 2010. They are driving the UBC Electric Car Club’s “e-Beetle” across Canada in a bid to be the first Battery Electric Vehicle (not counting solar cars) to traverse the country, in a “race” with the i-MiEV that visited last week. They were met by some enthusiastic EVCO members at parliament hill (Juergen Weichert (President of EVCO and owner of RideMore.ca), Rick Lane (REVConsultants.com) and me Allan Poulsen (SparkyEV.ca)), and were interviewed by CBC, CTV A-Channel, the Ottawa Sun, and CKCU.
